Dynamics Business Central

Dynamics 365 Business Central is a business management and enterprise resource planning system from Microsoft. It enables companies to connect their sales, financials, services, and operations to simplify business processes, improve customer interactions and make better decisions.

It is incredibly flexible, adaptable and full of convenient features that help companies manage their businesses, such as manufacturing, finance, shipping, sales, services, project management and more. In addition, companies can add functionality that is appropriate to the region of operation and customized to support highly specialized industries as well.

But what’s more interesting is that Business Central is easy to configure, fast to implement, simple to the point where it inspires innovation in product design, development, implementation, and usability.

In other words, Business Central is a less-complex solution compared to a typical entry-level accounting software like Quickbooks. It is the absolute enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution that has every feature you would come to expect in a midmarket ERP. What’s more is that it comes at a very reasonable price when compared to other higher-end ERP solutions such as Oracle or SAP.

Here’s a list of the features that come with Business Central:

  • GP/AP/AR

  • Budgets/Account Schedules

  • Consolidations

  • Inter-Company

  • Inter-Currency

  • Sales Orders/Invoicing

  • Purchasing/Purchase orders

  • Fixed Assets

  • Inventory (stock

  • Warehousing

  • Manufacturing

The release of Business Central is important because it combines the popularity of renowned ERP product Dynamics NAV. The only problem with NAV is that it’s on an on-premises software which doesn’t go very well with Microsoft’s aggressive “cloud-first strategy.” And while you could host NAV on a virtual server in that it would be accessible on the cloud, you’d still have the cost of the server to consider and have to manage it on your own. That’s why it was decided to offer a full version of NAV in the cloud and link it to the already well-known Dynamics 365 brand.
